The search is expected to resume on Wednesday for a fisherman who fell overboard a fishing vessel off St Francis Bay.
The NSRI says they were alerted early on Tuesday morning after the fisherman fell overboard the long line vessel, Helena Marie, about 30 nautical miles south west off-shore.
Spokesperson, Craig Lambinon, says chokka boats in the area as well as an NSRI rescue craft and two SA Air Force helicopters conducted an extensive search, but no sign was found of the fisherman.
He said the Helena Marie remained in the area last night while the air force will resume the search at first light.
