The search for a businessman missing at sea in Chintsa has been called off.
The 38-year-old Robert Walter Ernst Frauenstein went bodyboarding last week and the alarm was raised when his board, with bite marks, washed up later in the day.
Police spokesperson, Captain Khaya Tonjeni says Wednesday was the last day for the search.
He says they conducted an extensive search for the businessman with no luck.
Frauenstein's bodyboard is now in the possession of shark experts from the Department of Environmental Affairs.
The Buffalo City Metro and NSRI have issued a warning to bathers to be cautious along the coastline between East London and North of Chintsa.
