Its been a black Saturday on Eastern Cape roads with 11 people killed in separate accidents on opposite sides of the province.
On the T29 near Mqanduli, south of Mthatha, the driver of a bakkie transporting mourners to a funeral lost control of his vehicle which overturned.
Two people were killed instantly, and 14 others were critically injured.
And at around 4-30 on Saturday morning in the Karoo, nine people were killed in a head on accident on the N9 some 7 kilometres outside Graaff-Reinet on the way to Middelburg.
Graaff-Reinet police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Pirie Harmse says the accident involved a Toyota Carolla and a Quantum mini-bus taxi.
All four people in the Carolla were killed and five people in the mini bus taxi were killed including three adults and two children.
