JOHANNESBURG, November 3 (ANA) – A passenger en route to Dubai was arrested at Durban’s King Shaka International Airport when customs officials uncovered undeclared currency worth R6.2 million, the South African Revenue Services (Sars) said on Friday.
Sars said the passenger was departing to Dubai when its detector dog unit conducted a baggage search, and one of the detector dogs reacted positively to the passenger’s luggage on Thursday.
“A scan revealed images consistent with currency.”
The passenger was arrested by the South African Police Services.
