Police are still searching for the gunman who shot and killed a 59-year-old man in Kariega on Friday.
Captain Andre said the deceased from Kwanobuhle, had gone to an ATM in Algoa Road near the VW factory.
He said a female passenger got out to withdraw money when a green Chev Spark parked in front of their vehicle.
“While the female was returning to the vehicle, an unknown male suspect approached the Mercedes and fired several shots through the driver’s side window, fatally injuring the driver.
“The female ran away towards the VW factory while the suspect got into the green Chev Spark and drove away towards Kariega,” he said.
Beetge said a case of murder is under investigation by the SAPS.
The motive for the murder is not yet known and the name of the deceased has not yet been released.
