SAPS offers cash reward for escapee who has been on the run for 18-months

Sibusiso Nzuzo (37) has been on the run for over 18-months

SAPS

Eastern Cape Police have offered a cash reward of R100 000 for information that can lead to the re-arrest of a dangerous suspect who escaped from custody.

Thirty-seven-year-old Sibusiso Nzuzo has been on the run for 18-months since escaping with four other inmates from the SADA Correctional Centre in Komani.

Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli says all the prisoners were re-arrested except for Nzuzo who was facing a triple murder charge at the time of his escape.

Nzuzo allegedly kidnapped and killed a 71-year-old woman and her two teenage granddaughters, aged 17 and 16, one of whom was heavily pregnant.

The three women went missing under mysterious circumstances from their home in Tsomo.

Their bodies were later found tied up and floating in the nearby Mhlahlane River by a shepherd in December of 2019.

The motor vehicle, believed to have been used in the commission of the crime, was also found abandoned at Mahlubini Administrative Area.

Nzuzo was arrested in March of 2021 and was in custody for only six months when he managed to escape.

Anyone who may know the whereabouts of Nzuzo, is asked to contact the lead investigator on 082 921 0827
