Sangoma arrested for rape

A 32 year old sangoma from Kwanobuhle, Uitenhage has been arrested for rape.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says the mother of a 16 year girl took her to the sangoma for a witchcraft-related complaint over the weekend.

The sangoma allegedly ordered her to have sex with him and threatened her with his so-called supernatural powers.

The sangoma will appear in the KwaNobuhle Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
