The former communications director for the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Roland Willams pleaded guilty to a charge of fraud in the Port Elizabeth Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Monday.
Williams, along with his co-accused V&R Auto, pleaded guilty to insurance fraud after Williams falsely claimed nearly R100 000 from his insurance for an accident that never happened.
Public Prosecutor Liza Keech told Algoa FM News that V & R Auto would be sentenced at two o'clock on Monday afternoon.
William's legal representative submitted to the court that his client was a suitable candidate for correctional supervision.
Keech said the court would now await this report ahead of his sentencing which has been set down for the 5th of March.
V & R Auto was represented today by Renika Rungan, the widow of the company's late owner Raven Rungan.
Its alleged that Williams and Raven Rungan defrauded Santam Limited through a fraudulent insurance claim worth more than R100 000 in 2014.
Rungan was shot and killed in October 2015
