Garden Route police have arrested a suspect in connection with the rape and assault of a 74-year-old woman from Riversdale.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Christian Jansen, says the victim was allegedly attacked and raped in her home at around 10 'o clock on Sunday morning.
She sustained multiple injuries and is being treated in the hospital.
Police say a 19-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident around Riversdale.
He is being held in custody and will appear in the Riversdale Magistrate's Court on Tuesday on a charge of rape.
