Grahamstown police have opened an inquest docket, after discovering the body of a 4th year Rhodes student in his off-campus residence.
Police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender, says the student in his twenties was found on Thursday evening in his bathroom.
She says his friends became worried when they could not reach him on Thursday afternoon, and approached the flat owner to open the door.
Govender says no foul play is suspected and the man's name is being withheld.
Rhodes is expected to issue a statement on Friday.
