Rhino stuck in mud dies

 Three rhino have died after becoming stuck in mud at a Free State nature reserve.

The provincial department of environmental affairs says they were stuck in mud for 3 days at Sandveld Nature Reserve last month.

Spokesperson, Kgotso Tau says the animals were thought to have got stuck in a mud patch because of the low level of water at their natural drinking place at the Bloemhof Dam, bordering the reserve.

Tau says their horns will be kept in a safe place.
