A white rhino was killed, and another seriously injured at Koffylaagte private game reserve near Jansenville for their horns over the weekend.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Wessel Cronje says the owner of the reserve, one of his employees and guests were on a game drive on Saturday afternoon, when they discovered one of the animals.
He says the male rhino was still alive at that stage.
Cronje says the carcass of the second rhino, a female, was discovered on Sunday.
No arrests have yet been made, and the Hawks are investigating.
