Mossel Bay police are appealing to the public for information on the theft of 12 rhino horns from a local game farm.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Kappi Kapp, said the horns were stolen from a safe at the Gondwana Game Reserve last Friday.
"Access to the safe was gained after the suspects allegedly broke into the premises. They found the safe and opened it with a grinder," he said.
Kapp said that the value of the stolen rhino horns is approximately R1.3m.
He said a case of house-breaking and theft is under investigation.
Kapp has appealed to anyone with information that could help the police investigation to contact the KwaNonqaba police station.
