Shamwari Game Reserve has established a rhino conservation centre named after renowed conservationist, Dr Ian Player.
According to a statement, the rhino conservation centre seeks to encourage interactive participation from visitors through dynamic exhibitions.
Dr Player, who established the Wilderness Foundation, says he hopes the centre will encourage people to participate in finding alternative, innovative solutions to the rhino poaching crisis.
He also said that while conservationists are up against a terrible dark force, he believes rhino poaching can be overcome.
The opening the rhino consevation centre on Thursday also coincided with a rhino notching and DNA capturing exercise led by veterinarian Dr Johan Joubert.
