Eastern Cape police are offering a massive reward for information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of those behind the murders of 17 people in Tholeni Village near Butterworth.
Police said the killers targeted women and children between 2007 and 2012.
Police spokesperson, captain Jackson Manatha, says two of the ten murders being investigated have been resolved where suspects have been sentenced to lengthy jail terms.
"Mqwalaseli Mabhayi was sentenced to two life terms for the murder of 70-year-old Ntombomzi Gubevu and her 13-year-old grand-daughter, Nonelwa Gubevu.
In the second case Nkosomzi Kungwayo jailed for eight years for the murder of a 43-year-old Sibongile Nqambi."
However, Manatha says in the remaining cases police have drawn a blank.
They are no offering a reward of R250 000 rand that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators.
