The SA Municipal Workers Union says it's still locked in negotiations with the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality following a strike by disgruntled workers in the waste management division.
SAMWU deputy secretary, Melikhaya Kortjan, says the employer is still drafting the agreement.A large group of workers dumped piles of rubbish in front of the City Hall on Tuesday, reportedly demanding the immediate resignition of Executive Director of Public Health Waste Management, Andile Tolom.
Refuse collection has also come to a standstill in some areas in the metro as a result of the strike.
Kortjan says they are hoping to sign an agreement soon.
