Redevelopment of Cecilia Makiwane Hospital in commissioning phase

The redevelopment of East London's Cecilia Makiwane Hospital took another step yesterday as the project entered the commissioning phase.
The Coega Development Corporation, which is the implementing agent, says the project commissioning team was announced on Monday.
Its made up of representatives from the Department of Health, the hospital and key stakeholders including the CDC and is led by the hospital's chief executive, Dr Xamlashe.
The CDC says currently, construction is reaching completion at key nodes and this marks the start of a series of commissioning activities over the next two years.
Construction on the main hospital complex commenced in 2011 and is due for final completion in July 2015, with commissioning of completed sections starting in tandem
