The Hawks in the Eastern Cape have confirmed that a ransom demand has been made for the Gqeberha teacher who was kidnapped on Monday morning.
The 45-year-old woman, who is a staffer at Happydale Special School in Algoa Park, was snatched by at least three men moments after she arrived at school in her Toyota Fortuner.
Hawks spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Avele Fumb, confirmed that a ransom demand had been made.
He would not be drawn into providing any further details.
"We can further confirm that a ransom demand has been made.
"However, to protect the investigation's integrity and ensure the victim's safety, no further details can be disclosed.
"We urge anyone with the information that can assist our investigation to come forward," said Fumba.
The teacher has been held captive for three days as a manhunt to find her is underway.
