With spring in the air, it's most certainly the time to celebrate new life. As such, Pumba Private Game Reserve and Spa is thrilled to announce the birth of a gorgeous baby hippo. A hippo's gestation period is 8 months and a newborn hippo weighs approximately 30 kg.
The first sighting of the newborn was on 16 September 2013 and was captured beautifully in these photographs by freelance journalist, Juriaan Teulings from Amsterdam who was part of the SA Tourism Educational at Pumba Private Game Reserve and Spa.
