Nine people have been arrested as protests rocked various parts of Nelson Mandela Bay.
Police spokepserson, warrant officer Dumile Gwavu, says two shacks were set alight and a woman assaulted by a group of people in unit 29 on Monday.
He says they face charges of malicious damage to property, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and arson.
Meawhile, about 300 residents of Kayamnandi in Despatch took to the streets again on Monday.
Police said residents burnt tyres and block roads various roads.
Police monintored the situation but did not take any action.
