Media representatives and even the famous St. George's Park Band waited in vain for the arrival of the Proteas at the Port Elizabeth Airport on Wednesday morning, to welcome the national cricket team to the city.
The first Sunfoil Test Match between South Africa and Sri Lanka gets underway at St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth on Boxing Day.
EP Cricket confirmed at the airport that the incorrect information was released to the media regarding the team's arrival dates and times.
The Proteas will only arrive Thursday morning on three flights from Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town at 9.55, 11.10 and 11.40 respectively.
The Sri Lankans will however, land in PE at 2pm on Wednesday afternoon as was previously communicated.
They will have their their first practice session Thursday from 9-30am.
The Proteas first practice session starts at 2-30pm.
