The Rocklands Road in Kariega has been closed by police following a violent protest on Wednesday night.
Police spokesperson Captain Andre Beetge says Public Order Police were dispatched to the area at about 8.30 pm after a truck and car were set alight.
He says there were also reports of two adjacent farms being attacked by protesters who set alight a building before allegedly stealing stock.
Captain Beetge says motorists driving on the road were pelted with stones and a decision was made to close the road for traffic.
Motorists are urged to use alternative routes.
The reason for the protest is not clear at this stage and no arrests have been made.
