Premier Kiviet to announce provincial planning commission

Premier Noxolo Kiviet says the names of people to serve on the provincial planning commission of the Eastern Cape will be announced next week.
Speaking during a Human Rights Day address in Port Alfred, Kiviet said the commissioners would come from a variety of fields with vast knowledge and experiences.
She said the planning commission would not just be a government framework, but a societal development path which she hoped everyone would commit to.
Kiviet said government had started investments to improve the socio-economic conditions of the people of the Eastern Cape with over R125b committed to build ports, railways, roads, agriculture and energy infrastructure.
