A pregnant woman who was found dead earlier this month in a ditch in Gqeberha has been identified.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says she was identified by her boyfriend as Khuselwa Peter from Kwazekhele.
Peter was still dressed in pyjamas when her body was discovered on the Old St Albans gravel road in Gqeberha with a gunshot wound.
Colonel Naidu says on the morning of the 2nd of November a truck driver made the grim discovery and contacted the police.
She says Peter's boyfriend saw a picture in the media, partially showing the victim's pyjamas and he recognised it immediately.
According to his statement, the victim asked him to go to KFC for her, and when he got into his car, she walked out of the gate informing him that she would be back later.
Colonel Naidu says two days later the boyfriend saw the picture of her clothing in the media.
He confirmed that she was five months pregnant.
Peter, who has a 14-year-old son, was laid to rest this weekend
