Police in Gqeberha are searching for the driver of a bakkie who shot and wounded a pregnant cashier in her stomach at a drive-through window at a fast-food outlet in Zwide.
Spokesperson Captain Andre Beetge said the shooting occurred late on Monday night in Koyana Street.
“It is alleged that an unknown male suspect shot a female employee of KFC through the drive-through window.
“She is four months pregnant and was rushed to hospital for medical attention,” Beetge said.
He said the suspect was driving a white Nissan double cab bakkie.
An attempted murder case was opened and is being investigated by SAPS Kwazakhele.
Police are appealing to anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact their nearest police station or the CrimeStop at 08600 10111.
