Power restored to affected areas in PE

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality says areas affected by a power outage have been restored.

Metro spokesperson, Marthie Nel, says the cause of the widespread outage was attempts by a resident in Moeggesukkel, Bethelsdorp to make an illegal connection.

She says in the process, he unwittingly threw a wire over a 132 000 volt line.

Nel says the resident survived the incident.
