A Port Elizabeth policeman has been shot dead by three men at his home in Kwadwesi.
Provincial police spokesperson, Captain Ernest Sigobe, says the 58 year old warrant officer died on the way to hospital.
He says three men arrived at his home last night and demanded to see the policeman, who was stationed at Gelvandale police station.
They then opened fire before fleeing on foot.
Sigobe says the motive for the shooting is unknown and a manhunt for the killers is underway.
A case of murder is being investigated.
