Port Elizabeth fuel supply returning to normal

Transnet National Ports Authority says the oil tanker, Vale, has successfully discharged its load at the PE tanker berth.

Transnet says the product is not ready for distribution by the oil companies.

In a brief statement late yesterday, TNPA said it was comfortable that the logistics supply chain of fuel in Nelson Mandela Bay is recovering progressively.

Petrol stations ran out of fuel this past week after Transnet closed the tanker berth for emergency repairs.

These were completed in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The arrival of the Vale is the first of several oil tankers expected in Nelson Mandela Bay over the next few weeks.
