Kouga Municipality says the main beach in Jeffreys Bay has been reopened, after being closed late on Tuesday because of a sewerage spill.
The Municipality says the spill at a nearby pump station forced them to take precautionary measures.
The affected area was cleaned and accordingly, reopened to the public on Tuesday morning.
The holiday town, which is creaking under the weight of festive season holidaymakers also experienced power outages this week.
To compound matters high water consumption in the Wavecrest area has led to boreholes running low.
The Kouga Municipality has now appealed to residents and holidaymakers there to use water sparingly.
It says water supply to the rest of J/Bay is fine.
