Dozens of people have been arrested in anti-crime blitzes across the Eastern Cape.

Port Elizabeth police arrested 26 people on charges of drunk driving this weekend.

They include three Kabega Park police officers, a prison warden at St. Albans and a medical doctor.

Police spokesperson, major Ernest Sigobe, says the doctor face an additional charge for carrying a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.

Meanwhile, police in King Williams Town have arrested 38 suspects for crime ranging from robbery and theft to possession of suspected stolen property.
