Port Elizabeth police are searching for at least three suspects who robbed the Fischer's Jewellery store at the Boardwalk at gunpoint in a well-planned heist on Wednesday night.
Captain Johan Rheeder says the gang struck just before closing time in the early evening and fled with a number of items including several luxury watches.
Rheeder says the robbers then fled down the Marine Drive entrance of the Boardwalk Complex and hijacked a Despatch couple of their Audi in the Hobie Beach parking lot.
They used the Audi as their getaway vehicle and Rheeder says it was later found abandoned near the butcher store in Forest Hill.
Its not the first time Fischer's at the Boardwalk has been hit - having previously being robbed of valueable items several years ago.
There were three customers in the store during Wednesday's robbery in which no one was injured.
