Port Elizabeth police have released the names of the man and woman who died in a shooting incident in Morningside over the weekend.
Spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the incident happened at their house in Petersvale Road at around 10 o'clock on Saturday morning.
She says 54-year old Desmond Nanele shot dead his 53-year old wife, Sylvia, before turning the gun on himself.
Janse van Rensburg says police are investigating a case of murder, and also opened an inquest docket.
She says both victims were teachers at a school in KwaDesi.
