Police in Gqeberha are investigating two cases of murder after the bodies of two foreign nationals were found floating in the Swartkops River.
Spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said police responded to a complaint of a possible drowning on Wednesday night.
She said on arrival, they saw two men floating in the water.
Janse Van Rensburg said with the help of members of the public they went in and brought one of the victims to shore.
She said CPR efforts commenced but the man unfortunately died on the scene.
Janse Van Rensburg said the other victim was rushed to hospital but also died on the way.
She said the hands and feet of both victims were bound with cable ties when they were found.
They are foreign nationals but had no identification.
Police are also seeking their families and anyone who may have information that could assist, should contact their nearest police station.
