Police in Gqeberha say no foul play is suspected after the body of a teenage girl was found hanging from a powerline in Schauderville on Sunday.
SAPS spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says the 17-year-old's body was found in the bushes at the corners of Ferreira and Gelvan Street after 07h00.
According to information, she was last seen at a friend's house in Dinsmore Road, in the same street she lives, at about 01h00 that morning.
The rumour mill on social media went into overdrive early on Sunday, with claims that she was found naked, raped, and was murdered.
Colonel Naidu, however, says these claims, including that her body was mutilated, are not true.
She says the girl is not being named because no foul play is suspected.
