Police are searching for seven suspects after a couple from Riversdal in the Southern Cape was held at gunpoint on their farm on Saturday morning.
Captain Malcolm Pojie says the 56-year-old farmer was inside his farmhouse when seven armed men stormed inside around 9 am.
Pojie says the suspects tied the farmer to a chair and started loading stolen goods onto the victim's bakkie.
His wife, who returned home from feeding their horses, was also tied up before the suspects fled with the farmer's bakkie, cellphones and laptops.
The deserted bakkie was found hours later on a neighbouring farm.
The suspects fled with the stolen goods and are still at large.
Pojie says the farmer and his wife had to be treated for shock.
