Police officer among three killed in Uitenhage car crash

A member of the South African Police services was among three people killed on Wednesday night following a road accident in Uitenhage. 

Warrant Officer Gerda Swart said the driver of a VW Polo lost control of his vehicle as he was driving along Daniel Pienaar Road at around 10.30pm and crashed down an embankment. 

Three occupants of the car, including a police officer were killed in the accident. 

Swart said one survivour of the smash was admitted to hospital in Uitenhage. 

A culpable homicide docket has been opened.
