Gqeberha police identified the second victim in Friday's double homicide that happened in Bluewater Bay.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says 55-year-old Vuyo Njoloza was murdered alongside retired police officer 53-year-old Riaan van Aswegen.
Van Aswegen was the co-owner of a frail care facility situated on Riverside Drive where Njoloza was a resident.
In the early hours of Friday morning, three armed suspects gained entry to the home through a lounge window at the Arbeidsvreugde Frail Care Centre where they split up into different sections of the home.
Colonel Naidu says during the commotion Njoloza came out of his room and was shot in the head.
She says van Aswegen, who heard the shots came out of his room to investigate when he too was shot in the head.
Both victims were declared dead on the scene.
The Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit in Gqeberha has taken over the investigation but no arrests have been made.
The killers fled the scene with four phones, jewellery and two TV sets before exiting the house through the sliding door.
Details of van Aswegen's funeral are not yet known.
According to his daughter on Facebook, van Aswegen did not have a funeral policy and they are now seeking donations to assist in funeral costs.
