Eastern Cape police have identified the learner who was killed when a school bus overturned near Tarkastad on Wednesday afternoon.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Elmarie van Eck, says he was six year old Siyababalwe Tukuzhe.
She says three other learners, aged 13 and two 16 year old's, were seriously injured and have been transferred to Frontier Hospital in Queenstown.
The bus was ferrying 28 learners and four teachers from the Winterberg Schools Trust near Tarkastad to Palmietfontein when it crashed.
A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
Meanwhile, schooling has been suspended for the day following the tragedy tragedy.
Officials from the Education Department are expected to visit the school on Wednesday.
