It has been a week since a resident found hundreds of criminal case dockets dumped at Mdantsane NU10.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana has confirmed to Algoa FM News that a case of theft and defeating the ends of justice is now under investigation.
A Senior officer was appointed last week to conduct an investigation into the matter.
Police expressed their concern over the matter but did not want to speculate on the issue.
SAPS also would not confirm to the media whether the cases were still active or the nature of the crimes.
Brigadier Kinana says once the investigation is done, the next course of action will be determined.
