Police dog Bonzo was hard at work on Wednesday helping his handler, Warrant Officer Tertius Neethling, and members of the Alexandria Visible Policing, arrest house robbery suspects in Boknesstrand.
Police said Bonzo apprehended one suspect who had jumped from the roof of a house while Neethling, who was on a rest day, apprehended the second suspect on the roof of the house, one of four that were burgled in the area.
Stolen goods, including handbags, cellphones, wallets, and the hearing aid of a deaf boy, were recovered in nearby bushes.
Police said one of the two arrested suspects had been released on parole last month for housebreaking in the same area in 2014 after serving two years of a three year sentence.
Spokespeson, Captain Mali Govender, says he also has three cases pending.
The two suspects will appear in the Alexandria Magistrates Court soon.
