Uitenhage police arrested a total of 98 suspects over the long weekend.
Lieutenant Gerda Swart said the suspects were arrested on various charges including housebreaking, robbery and assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm.
Swarts said a total of 42 traffic fines valued at R20500 were also issued.
Two people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
She also added that 26 people were arrested and detained after illegal drugs were found in their possession and a total of 15 fines were issued for other liquor related crimes.
Lieutenant Swart said police were appealing to the community to work with the police to curb crime in the area.
"Police in the Uitenhage Cluster will continue to proactively and reactively address crime effectively in the Uitenhage Cluster. The South African Police Service appeal to the community to work with the SAPS in reducing crime by providing valuable information that will lead to the arrest of suspects, the tracing of illegal firearms and the recovery of stolen property" she said.
