Eastern Cape police say they're following up on several leads in the murder of a farmer at Barkley East.
Brigadier Marinda Mills says a detective task team has been established.
61-year old Sarel Pretorius and his 55-year old wife Annemarie were confronted by two suspects on their farm Roodepoort in the Barkley East District on Tuesday night.
Brigadier Mills says one suspect took Annemarie into the house and forced her to hand over cash, a firearm and a cellphone.
The other suspect held her husband at gunpoint.
A shot was fired - hitting Sarel Pretorius who died at the scene.
Mills says his wife was tied up in the bathroom but managed to untie herself and raise the alarm.
The vehicle used by the suspects was confirmed stolen in Rossouw and recovered by the Police in Burgersdorp.
