Police are appealing to the public for information that could help in the investigation into the murder of 41-year-old Clifton Booysen, in Humansdorp on Tuesday night.
Spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli, said the motive for the shooting is not known.
He said police responded to a report of a shooting in 7de Laan and upon arrival found Booysen with several gunshot wounds to the body.
Nkohli says anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect or suspects should contact the Humansdorp Detectives on the standby number, 082 441 7613.
Meanwhile, the ANC in the Eastern Cape expressed its shock at Booysen's murder.
“We call upon the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) to work hand-in-hand with our police, to ensure that those responsible for this heinous crime meet the full might of the law,” said ANC provincial secretary, Lulalama Ngukayitobi.
