Northern Cape police say a man has been arrested in Noupoort for allegedly being in possession of 25 kilograms of raw platinum worth an estimated R214 000.
Police said the man was due to appear in court on Tuesday following his arrest at a roadblock on the N-10.
A spokesperson said the precious metal was found hidden under the seat of the vehicle.
Furthermore at the road block on N10, police stopped a white VW Golf with three occupants inside aged between 42 and 49.
They confiscated two bags of dagga worth R30 000.
They will be appearing before the Noupoort Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
