Person dies in PE house fire

 Port Elizabeth police have opened an inquest docket after a person died in a fire in a wendy house in Algoa Park.

Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, says the occupants of the main house in Engelbrecht Street were alerted to the fire just before 1am on Tuesday morning.

She says by then the structure was already on fire.

Janse Van Rensburg says one person died in the blaze.

No further details have been made available as yet.
