A 51 year-old Port Elizabeth woman critically wounded in a shooting at the Arise and Shine Christian Church in New Brighton last week has died in hospital.
Constable Mncedi Mbombo says Nondumiso Sinkankanka passed away on Monday and that an attempted murder docket had now been changed to one of murder.
Sinkankanka was shot several times by a lone gunmen who pursued her back into the church shortly after the evening service last Thursday.
He fled the scene on foot.
Constable Mbombo told AlgoaFM news that they had yet to make a breakthrough in the case and that anyone with information please make contact with the New Brighton police.
