Port Elizabeth police are searching for three men who forced their way into a house in Gelvandale and brutally attacked a couple inside.
Police spokesperson, captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, says a 29-year-old Veronique Grootboom died of multiple stab wounds following the incident shortly before one o'clock Monday morning.
She says a 33-year-old man was seriously injured and is in hospital.
Janse van Rensburg says the suspects fled in a white VW Citi Golf.
The motive for the attack is not yet known at this stage.
