PE woman hijacked, driven around for 90 minutes, then dropped off after suspects get a call

Port Elizabeth police are searching for two suspects after a 51-year-old woman was hijacked in her car in Old Grahamstown road in Deal Party early on Monday.

Colonel Pricilla Naidu says the incident happened at a robot when a man knocked at her window.

She says the woman ignored him and immediately thereafter another man was at the window pointing a firearm at her.

Naidu says after she was forced onto the passenger seat, they sped off towards Motherwell, where they drove around with her in the car, for about one and half hours.

She says the woman alleged that when they received a call, they dropped her off in Motherwell.

She was assisted by a taxi driver who took her to Motherwell police station.

The vehicle is an Opel Sedan which was found abandoned two hours later.

Naidu says the men took cash from her handbag.

A case of carjacking was opened and is under investigation.
