Port Elizabeth police have confirmed that the woman who involved in an altercation with EFF supporters during a protest at a Clicks Store in Walmer Park Shopping Centre, has been formally charged.
Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said the 52-year-old woman was charged on Wednesday with the pointing of a firearm.
She was released on warning and is expected to appear in court on Thursday.
Naidu said her 7.65mm pistol was also confiscated.
A video of the altercation, in which the woman draws and points a firearm, circulated widely circulated on social media.
Initially, the police said that the parties declined to press charges, but said the EFF later laid a formal complaint.
