PE woman arrested for possession of stolen property and dagga

A 38-year-old woman has been arrested in Veeplaas, Port Elizabeth for being in possession of more than R100 000 worth of stolen property as well as R10 000 worth of dagga.

Police Captain Andre Beetge says Kwazakele Police and Crime Intelligence followed up information, following a break-in on Sunday at the Polo Club in Kragga Kamma Road, Kabega Park.

He says the information lead police to a house in Jijana Street in Veeplaas, where two horse saddles, various horse blankets and other horseriding equipment were found.

Beetge says during the search of the house, police also found 21 bags of dagga.

He says the female occupant of the house was arrested and charged with possession of suspected stolen property, as well as possession of dagga.

She will appear in the New Brighton Magistrates Court on Thursday.
